Simone De Beauvoir (1908-1986) was a french existential philosopher feminist theorist, and social theorist. At 21 she became the youngest person at the time to pass the ’agrégation’, a highly competitive french postgraduate examination which serves as a national ranking of student, coming second only to Jean Paul Sartre. Beauvoir spent her life writing, traveling, and fighting for political causes. She’s also known for having had relationships with her younger students.
